The event “Educational Technology for All” offered reflections on the challenges and opportunities involved in building a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable digital future.

On 5 April, Sistema THEAD, an affiliated entity of AccessCat, hosted the event “Educational Technology for All”, a space for reflection on the challenges and opportunities involved in building a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable digital future. The event was aimed at educators, teaching professionals, communicators, third-sector organisations, and technology providers.

The programme featured a series of talks, a project showcase, and a roundtable discussion. Blanca Arias, researcher from the TraDiLex (UPF), took part in the roundtable as panellist to share insights on “the role of research and knowledge transfer, the voice of end users, and the contribution of ‘maker’ projects” in the development of accessible education.

She also took the opportunity to present results from the UNIVAC project and the AccessCat Network, and to promote accessibility awareness in higher education. One of the key takeaways from her talk was that "university classrooms are not accessible. This is one of the major causes of dropout among students with disabilities."

The full recording of the event is available on Sistema THEAD’s YouTube channel.
