Language learning assessment and training through audiovisual and accessible content, based on a methodology that offers an immersive, inclusive, and highly efficient learning experience.

This methodology is particularly motivating for young audiences and highly effective in the field of minoritised languages. It also stands out for its efficiency in raising awareness on functional diversity.

The methodology combines:

  • Integrated accessibility strategies: The use of accessibility (subtitles, audio description, etc.) enriches the language learning experience in several ways, offering significant advantages to learners, such as improved pronunciation, lexical richness, and oral comprehension.
  • Audiovisual immersion: Real and contextualised content is offered through videos, films, series, and news, among others.
  • Adaptive/personalised learning: Adapted to the user’s pace and learning style.
  • Cultural contextualisation: Cultural, social, and historical aspects related to the language are included, which offers a deeper and more contextualised understanding.

To complement this, several platforms that will provide access to content based on this methodology are being developed:

  • Self-learning materials for teachers (available at the end of 2025).
  • Educational activities for students (available at the beginning of 2027).

These platforms are being developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ project financed by the European Union HOW TIMELY (KA220-SCH-6F8B23D3).

The TRACTE research group combines expert knowledge on three disciplines: online language learning, accessibility to information and communication (audio description, sign language, subtitling), and direct implementation in teaching.
