The Collaborative Network to support teaching and learning processes in the field of Human–Computer Interaction across Ibero-America (HCI-Collab), sponsored by the Asociación Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado (AUIP) and with technical support from the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), organises the monthly event “A year of webinars on HCI in Ibero-America”, in which Afra Pascual (GRIHO, UdL) takes part to present current trends and research advances in this field.

Anna Matamala, Pilar Orero, Estel·la Oncins and Carme Mangiron, researchers from TransMedia Catalonia (UAB), will be among the experts taking part in the Expert Seat, an outreach and knowledge-transfer initiative within the Vagó de la Ciència. The initiative places a researcher on an FGC train, where members of the public can approach them and ask questions about their field of expertise.

For this year’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), the TransMedia Catalonia group (UAB) hosts an online workshop that delves into the European acts on accessibility and AI and how they overlap.

Following the 1st Knowledge Transfer Day in Social Sciences and Humanities, UAB continues the debate and dialogue on how research in Social Sciences and Humanities translates into real impact through services, networks, and strategic collaborations. The morning focuses on exploring transfer tools, sharing success stories, and creating new opportunities among universities, administration, and businesses.

Anna Matamala (TransMedia Catalonia) takes part in this workshop organised by the Catalan Coordinator of Foundations, with participation from AccessCat affiliate entities such as Dincat and Som Fundació. The session explores challenges, good practices, and the current legal framework regarding physical, sensory, and cognitive barriers.

Estel·la Oncins (TransMedia Catalonia) takes part in SobTec (8th Congress on Technological Sovereignty) to discuss digital accessibility within the framework of the European Accessibility Act.

Mireia Farrus, researcher at CLiC (UB), leads the talk “Does ChatGPT Understand Us?”, addressing a key question in the era of artificial intelligence: do language models really understand what we say, or do they only process patterns? During the presentation, she also showcases the accessibility technology SCRIBAL.

As part of Accessibility Week, Nodes (UOC) organises, together with Arquitectura Sense Fronteres, an AccessCat Network affiliate entity, a collective mapping session with youth from Centre Condal, including vulnerable groups such as those with psychosis and autism, among others.

The research group Nodes organises a training workshop using Critical Cartographies methodologies at the Federal University of Goiânia (UFG) in Brazil.

Mariona Taulé (CLiC, UB) takes part in the NPLD Coppieters Campus 2025: Digitisation, Artificial Intelligence and Languages: Overview and Opportunities with the talk “Scribal: a digital transcription tool specialised in the Catalan language”.
